annotation:  The article is devoted to the analysis of the possibility of conceptualization of non-reductive materialism through the revision of theological tradition — in particular, the legacy of Thomas Aquinas. The author tries to show why we need such a materialism and such an understanding of matter without which it is impossible to hope for a stable socialist society. We see critical analysis of contemporary left thinkers — Badiou and Zizek — who by turning to theology also made an attempt to move in this direction.
