Jean-Luc Marion — philosopher, theologian; Professor of the Philosophy of Religion and Theology in the Divinity School, University of Chicago (USA). annotation:  Discussion between Jacques Derrida and Jean-Luc Marion, which took place in the Fall of 1997 in Augustinian university of Villanova, is devoted to the question of gift: what is a gift and is it possible to think and conceptualize gift standing on phenomenological grounds. Besides participants discuss questions of negative theology and deconstruction.

annotation:  This article is devoted to the problem of how the question of God could be thought in philosophy. In succession it is examined the metaphysical figure of philosophy and the thought of God that it actualizes, then the phenomenological figure of philosophy and the possibility it keeps in store for God. It is shown the differences between God of phenomenology and God of metaphysics, besides the author examines the ways to avoid collusion between phenomenology and revealed theology.
